Privacy Policy

The Gyeonggi Arts Center (http://www.ggac.or.kr, "the Arts Center" hereinafter) protects the personal information and rights of the information subjects based on Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act. It hereby publishes the personal information handling policy that it has developed as follows, in order that their related complaints may be treated promptly and efficiently:
Article 1 (Purposes of processing personal information)
The Arts Center collects and processes personal information for the following purposes: The Arts Center does not use the personal information that it collects from its members for any purpose other than those listed below. It also takes the necessary actions in the event of a change in the purposes of information collection and processing, including obtaining the members’ additional consent to such changes, pursuant to Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act:
  1. 1. Subscription to and management of membership

    Personal information is handled to check applicants’ intention to subscribe to the membership, to identify and authenticate users prior to their use of the membership services, to maintain and manage membership eligibility, to prevent the unauthorized use of the services, to check the legal agent's consent to the collection of personal information belonging to minors under 14 years of age, and to deliver notices.

  2. 2. Handling of user complaints

    Personal information is handled to check the identity of users who raise complaints, communication or survey for checking related facts, and to notify the results of the handling of complaints.

  3. 3. Utilization for marketing and advertisement purposes

    Personal information is also handled for key performances or exhibitions, the provision of promotional messages, the leasing of various spaces, and the conducting of events.

Article 2 (Processing and retention period of personal information)
The Arts Center handles or retains collected personal information for the period of their retention or use under the statutes or within the retention period consented to by the information subjects at the time of collection of their personal information.

    • - Information subjects: Name, date of birth, e-mail address, mobile phone number.
    • - Legal agent (guardians for minors below 14 years of age): Name, date of birth.

      · Basis for retention: Consent of the information subjects or related statutes.

  • · Retention period: 1 year (5 years from the last transaction date when any transactions exist).
  • · Related statutes
    • - Records concerning the withdrawal of contracts or subscriptions: 5 years (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce).
    • - Records concerning payment and provision of goods, etc.: 5 years (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce).
    • - Records concerning the handling of consumers’ complaints or disputes: 3 years (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce).
Article 3 (Provision of personal information to third parties)
The Arts Center handles the personal information of the information subjects within the range provided under Article 1 (Purposes of handling personal information) as a rule. It does not handle or provide any personal information to third parties in excess of the original range without obtaining the prior consent of the information subjects.
However, it may provide personal information to third parties in the following cases:
  1. 1. When separate consent has been given by the information subjects;
  2. 2. Where special provisions exist in laws or it is inevitable to observe the legal obligations;
  3. 3. Where it is deemed necessary explicitly for the protection from impending danger to the life, body or financial profits of an information subject or a third party in cases where the information subject or his/her legal agent is not in a position to express an intention or where prior consent cannot be obtained as the relevant addresses are unknown; or
  4. 4. When personal information is provided in a format that disables the identification of specific individuals for such purposes as the preparation of statistics, etc.
Article 4 (Entrustment or outsourcing of personal information processing)
1. The Arts Center does not entrust or outsource its processing of the relevant personal information to third parties without obtaining the prior consent of the information subjects as a rule.

However, the Arts Center entrusts the following items of personal information processing with the consent of the information subjects:

  • · Entrusted party (Outsourced service provider) : Interpark Inc.
  • · Items of personal information: ID, full name, date of birth, payment date, and amount paid.
  • · Contents of entrusted services: All of the ticketing services, including reservation and ticketing.
2. When the Arts Center concludes an outsourcing service contract, it specifies the service providers' compliance with the statutes related to personal information protection, prohibition of provision of personal information to third parties, technical and administrative protection measures, responsibilities to be borne, etc. on documents to supervise the service providers on their safe processing of personal information.
3. In the event that any change is made to the contents of the outsourced services or service providers, the Arts Center shall notify the members thereof through its personal information processing policy.
Article 5 (Rights and duties of information subjects and their legal agents, and the methods for exercising such rights)
1. The information subjects (referring to legal agents in the case of minors under 14 years of age) may always exercise their right against the Arts Center for the review, correction, deletion, and suspension of processing of their personal information.
2. The information subjects may exercise their rights under paragraph 1 by filling out and sending Form No. 8 of the Enforcement Rules of the Personal Information Protection Act by e-mail, fax, etc.
3. A power of attorney should be submitted using Form No. 11 of the Enforcement Rules of the Personal Information Protection Act when the rights under paragraph 1 are exercised by a legal agent or other representative entrusted by an information subject.
4. The relevant personal information will not be used or provided until the correction or deletion has been completed when an information subject requests the correction or deletion of errors in his/her personal information.
5. Personal information may be reviewed, corrected or withdrawn after the member has been authenticated by clicking the button for correction of the member information, withdrawal from membership, or withdrawal of consent.
6. The rights of the information subject to request review or discontinuance of the handling of his/her personal information may be restricted based on Article 34 paragraph 4 or Article 37 paragraph 2 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
7. The information subject cannot request the deletion of his/her personal information when it is clearly specified under other statutes that the personal information is subject to collection.
8. The Arts Center checks whether the applicant is the member or his/her legitimate agent when an information subject requests the review, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing of his/her personal information.
9. The Arts Center secures the consent of the legal agent when it handles personal information belonging to a minor under 14 years of age. It destroys the relevant personal information when the legal agent refuses to consent or the consent is not checked in the process.
Article 6 (Procedure and methods for destroying personal information)
The Arts Center destroys the relevant personal information without delay upon termination of the period of retention to which an information subject has consented, or when the purpose of handling the information subject’s personal information has been accomplished. The personal information is destroyed using the following procedure and methods:

    The Arts Center destroys the relevant personal information files without delay upon termination of the period of retention to which the information subject has consented or when the purpose of processing the information subject’s personal information has been accomplished. Personal information transferred to a database will not be used for any other purposes, unless otherwise required under the relevant statutes.

  2. 2. Method of destroying personal information

    Technical methods that disable the recovery or retrieval of personal information are used to destroy personal information kept in electronic files, whereas shredding or incineration is used to destroy personal information kept on hard copy (paper formats).

Article 7 (Measures for the security of personal information)
The Arts Center takes all technical, administrative or physical measures required to secure safety as follows based on Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act:
  1. 1. Technical measures: Restriction of access to personal information, encryption of personal information, and security measures against hacking, etc.
  2. 2. Administrative measures: Development and implementation of internal control plans, provision of security education for and minimization of employees responsible for handling personal information, and periodic internal audits.
  3. 3. Physical measures: Control of access to computer rooms, data storage, etc.
Article 8 (Installation, operation and refusal of devices for the automatic collection of personal data)
The Arts Center installs and operates ‘cookies’ that occasionally save or locate the information of users. Cookies are text files that the servers used to operate an entity's website transmit to the user's browser and which are saved on the user's computer hard disk.

    Cookies are used to provide optimized information to the users by analyzing the access frequency, visit times, use patterns, etc. of website members and non-member users.

Article 9 (Personal information protection manager)
The Arts Center appoints a personal information protection manager to address complaints raised by information subjects related to the handling of their personal information and to remedy any damages, and to take charge of the overall supervision of the Arts Center’s operations related to the processing of personal information:

Article 10 (Request for review of personal information)
The information subjects may request the following department to review their personal information based on Article 35 of the Personal Information Protection Act: The Arts Center shall do its best to ensure that such review requests are processed promptly.

Article 11 (Remedies for infringements of the rights or benefits of information subjects)
The information subjects may request dispute settlement or counseling service to the agencies listed below for remedy of infringements of their personal information:

Article 12 (Change of policy for the processing of personal information)
